Calgary has a critical shortage of recreation and amateur sporting facilities. Your help is needed to address this growing problem. The Quarry Park Education and Recreation Complex is a proposed facility in the new southeast community of Quarry Park. The proposed complex is in an area of the city that’s surrounded by established communities. Families and individuals in these neighbourhoods have been waiting for a resource like this for more than 20 years and Quarry Park is the ideal location as it’s currently under development. The 200,0000 sq. ft. facility is proposed to include:
 
    - two hockey rinks
    - an indoor soccer field
    - outdoor soccer fields
    - two gymnasiums
    - a lap pool
    - a playground
    - a restaurant
    - community meeting rooms

It’s a much needed resource for people of all ages in Calgary’s southeast to enjoy. This facility will be utilized by Tanbridge Academy, a not-for-profit organization created by Cardel Homes. Tanbridge Academy provides world-class athletic training as part of the Alberta school curriculum for grades 4 to 12. Tanbridge will be located in a separate building near the recreation centre. It will rent the recreation facility during the day when usage is typically at its lowest. This collaborative approach will bring much needed dollars to the recreation facility and lessen the burden on tax payers for operating and maintenance funding.

Industry and the public have stepped up to lead the charge on this important community resource. Cardel Homes, Remington Development and private investors have committed $10 million to the development of the centre but we need the support of government to make this project a reality.
